The Directorate of Forensic Science, Assam has large contribution in solving several important criminal cases in state level as well as in national levels. Large number of students from reputed government educational institutes like National Institute of Technology, Silchar, Guwahati University, Dibrugarh University, Guwahati Medical College, Assam Engineering College,Cotton college, Guwahati have completed several project works in this Directorate during the last financial year. Significantly students from several premier educational institute from outside the state like Amity University, U.P., SRM Engineering College, Chennai, Allahabad Agricultural University, U.P. have also completed project works in this Directorate.
The Directorate is also providing facilities for practical training in the job oriented courses of Industrial Training Institute (ITI). As part of scientific research, scientist of this directorate regularly published research papers which were acclaimed by the Forensic community of the country. In this way the Directorate is rapidly progressing to become a centre of excellence in the educational field.
